FAQ
Can you play GTA 6 offline?
OFFICIALUnpublished. Official materials describe a single-player campaign. They do not say whether an internet check is required after install.
Rockstar has not published an offline-play policy for Grand Theft Auto VI. Take-Two’s pre-order language describes a single-player experience at launch. That is not the same sentence as “works with Wi-Fi off.”
What is known: you will need a network to buy, download, and pre-load (from November 12, 2026). Day-one patches, if they exist, also need a connection. After the campaign is installed, whether the game allows a fully offline session is unlisted.
Older GTA single-player campaigns often ran after install without a live session. That history is not a VI spec sheet. Always-online rumors for VI are unlabeled unless a store page or Rockstar note says so.
GTA VI Online is a separate, unconfirmed product. Even if Online later needs a login, that would not automatically answer campaign offline play. Do not mix the two.
When a requirements or FAQ line appears on PlayStation Store, Xbox, or Rockstar, this page cites it. Until then the honest answer is: unknown after install; network required to get the files.
