GTA 6 platforms
OFFICIALOfficial launch platforms: PlayStation 5, including PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. No PS4. No Xbox One. PC not announced.
Official launch platforms are PlayStation 5 — the family of machines that includes PS5 Pro — and Xbox Series X|S. That pairing is in Take-Two’s pre-order release and on Rockstar’s own VI site.
There is no PlayStation 4 version. There is no Xbox One version. There is no Nintendo version. There is no mobile version. There is no cloud-only SKU announced. If a streamer says “it’s coming to Switch 2,” that is rumor until a store tile exists.
PS5 Pro is treated as part of the PlayStation 5 launch family in public listings. Separate Pro-only feature lists (resolution, frame rate, ray tracing) are only published here when Rockstar or Sony write them down. We will not guess a checkerboard.
Xbox Series S is included in “Xbox Series X|S.” That means the game must run on the smaller box. Exact S-mode targets are unlisted at time of writing. Treat any locked internal resolution you saw on a slide as unverified until a store page or Rockstar note states it.
PC is a separate question with a separate FAQ. Historical pattern is a later port. Pattern is not a SKU. Do not buy a grey-market “PC key.” There is nothing to redeem.
Cloud streaming through PlayStation Plus Premium or Xbox Cloud Gaming would be a catalog decision by Sony or Microsoft. We will log it if VI appears in those catalogs. Until then, your phone is not a platform.
The physical edition is a code in a box, which tells you how far this generation’s distribution has moved. Last-gen was never in the conversation. If you see a PS4 box art on a marketplace, it is fake, a reprint of V, or a scam.
Performance modes are not a public table. Anyone quoting “4K 60 with RT on Pro” is guessing or leaking. Guessing is THEORY. Leaking is LEAK · UNVERIFIED. Neither belongs in this answer’s first paragraph.
backward compatibility rumors for last-gen are a category error. VI is not a V-style dual SKU. The engine pitch and the store pages agree.
If you own both a PS5 and a Series X, pick a store ecosystem you already pay for. Cross-save between Sony and Microsoft is not a printed VI feature. Do not assume it.
Pro and Series X are not the same sentence. Do not mix a Pro mode rumor into an Xbox paragraph. Each platform gets its own table when tables exist.
