FAQ
What time does GTA 6 release?
OFFICIALWorking assumption: 00:00 America/New_York on Thursday, November 19, 2026, until PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store post a specific unlock hour.
Rockstar printed the calendar day: Thursday, November 19, 2026. The exact minute is a storefront rule. Until Sony or Microsoft publish an unlock hour, this desk counts to midnight Eastern (America/New_York).
Digital unlocks usually follow the store, not a Rockstar livestream clock. New Zealand often sees the calendar day first on PlayStation. Use the unlock-times table on this site, not a Discord screenshot.
November 12 is pre-load. That is download and install, not play. Physical boxes are a code so you can redeem in time to pre-load. They do not move the play lock.
If a retailer “opens at midnight,” that is their event. It does not override the PlayStation Store or Xbox lock. If a store later posts 9 p.m. local, this FAQ’s first line changes.
