Was GTA 6 delayed?
OFFICIALYes. Official windows moved from 2025, then off May 2026, to Thursday, November 19, 2026. That current date has not been replaced.
Last updated September 15, 2026
Yes. Grand Theft Auto VI did not stay on its first public window. Trailer-era talk still pointed at 2025. A later official window sat in May 2026, then moved. The date Rockstar and Take-Two now print is Thursday, November 19, 2026.
When Rockstar shifted off the earlier 2026 window, the studio said it needed extra months to finish the game to the standard players expect. That is an official delay explanation, not a forum rumor.
As of this page, November 19, 2026 has not been replaced. Coverage of later interviews has Rockstar still talking to that calendar. If the date moves again, the first sentence here changes, and so does the countdown on this hub.
A delay in the past is not a delay today. Searching “is GTA 6 delayed” in 2026 often means “did they slip November 19?” Until Rockstar or Take-Two print a new day, the honest answer is: they already delayed it; they have not delayed it again.
May 26, 2026 and “fall 2025” are history. Store pages and pre-order copy use November 19. Share that date, not a screenshot from an old recap.
Pre-load on November 12 is not a secret delay workaround. It is install. Ultimate Edition is not early access. See the early-access FAQ if someone is selling a week of play.
